After the genealogy in Matthew 1:1-17, Matthew details the birth of Jesus. This continues into chapter 2 with the visit of the Magi, etc.
The Christmas story in Matthew was put together at least 50 years after it happened.

14. The belt buckle
In high school, Uncle Donny gave me a German belt buckle from his service in World War II. The Nazi swastika is surrounded by the words
"Gott mit uns", or
"God with us", from the Luther Bible 400 years earlier. The verse is often read at Christmas.
